Getting Started

How do I install Clarifi?
Visit the Shopify App Store, click "Install", and approve the permissions. The entire process takes about 10 seconds. No credit card required for the Free plan.
What permissions does Clarifi need?
Clarifi needs read access to your orders, products, inventory, fulfillments, and shipping data. We use this to calculate your real profit. We never modify your store data.
How long does it take to see my profit data?
Your dashboard populates within minutes of installation. Clarifi imports your recent order history and calculates profit in real-time going forward. For the most accurate data, set your product costs (COGS) right after installation.
Do I need to set up anything after installing?
The only required setup is entering your product costs (COGS) in Settings → Costs. Everything else — Shopify fees, payment processing fees, and transaction fees — is calculated automatically. Check our Getting Started guide for a full walkthrough.

Pricing & Billing

Is Clarifi really free?
Yes! The Free plan is free forever — no credit card required. It includes up to 50 orders/month, a basic dashboard, and top 5 products by profit. If you need more, you can upgrade to Pro ($19.99/mo) or Business ($39.99/mo).
What's included in the free trial?
Both Pro and Business plans come with a 7-day free trial. During the trial you get full access to all plan features. You can cancel anytime during the trial and won't be charged.
How does billing work?
Clarifi uses Shopify's built-in billing system. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice — no separate payment method needed. You can manage your subscription from Settings → Billing inside the app.
Can I downgrade or cancel anytime?
Absolutely. You can downgrade to Free or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. There are no contracts or cancellation fees.

Features & Data

What costs does Clarifi track?
Clarifi tracks: product costs (COGS), Shopify plan fees, payment processing fees (credit card, PayPal, etc.), Shopify transaction fees, shipping costs, refunds/returns, app subscription costs, and ad spend (when connected). All of these are deducted from your revenue to show your true net profit.
How are Shopify fees calculated?
Clarifi automatically detects your Shopify plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus) and applies the correct fee rates for payment processing and transaction fees. If you change plans, the rates update automatically.
Can I track ad spend from Facebook, Google, and TikTok?
Yes! On the Pro and Business plans, you can connect your ad accounts to track ad spend alongside your profit data. This gives you true ROAS (not just revenue-based) and break-even analysis per campaign.
What are AI Insights?
AI Insights (Pro and Business plans) analyzes your profit data weekly and generates actionable recommendations — like which products to promote, cost anomalies to investigate, and margin optimization opportunities. Think of it as having a profit analyst on your team.
Does Clarifi work with multiple stores?
The Business plan supports up to 5 stores in a unified multi-store dashboard. You can compare performance across stores and see aggregated profit metrics.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Pro and Business plans include CSV and PDF export for all reports — P&L statements, product profitability, order data, and more.

Integrations

Which accounting software does Clarifi integrate with?
Clarifi integrates with QuickBooks Online and Xero. You can map your revenue and cost categories to your chart of accounts and sync automatically.
Can I connect my shipping carrier?
Yes. You can connect shipping carriers to automatically import actual shipping costs, so Clarifi can show you the real margin impact of your shipping strategy.
Does Clarifi integrate with supplier platforms?
Yes. You can connect supplier platforms to auto-sync your COGS. This is especially useful for dropshipping or multi-supplier stores where costs change frequently.

Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We follow Shopify's security best practices and never store payment card numbers. See our full Privacy Policy.
What happens to my data if I uninstall Clarifi?
When you uninstall Clarifi, your data is deleted within 30 days. If you reinstall within that period, we can restore your data. After 30 days, all data is permanently removed.
Does Clarifi share my data with third parties?
No. We never sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for their own purposes. Data is only shared with services you explicitly connect (like QuickBooks or Xero) and infrastructure providers necessary to run the app.

Troubleshooting

My profit numbers look wrong. What should I check?
First, make sure your COGS are set correctly in Settings → Costs. Missing or incorrect COGS is the #1 cause of inaccurate profit numbers. Also check your shipping costs in Settings → Shipping. If everything looks correct, contact us at [email protected].
Why are some orders showing $0 profit?
This usually means the COGS hasn't been set for those products. Go to Settings → Costs and make sure every product has a cost assigned.
The dashboard is loading slowly. Is something wrong?
If you have a large order history, the initial data import can take a few minutes. After that, the dashboard should load quickly. If it continues to be slow, try refreshing the page or contact support.
